Understanding This Comparison
The operators ranked here are assessed across five independently scored categories: trust (35%), bonus clarity (20%), sports coverage (20%), payment methods (15%), and app quality (10%). The table is not a simple feature list — every score is built from verified data, not operator submissions. The dataset covers ten operators selected for having sufficient publicly verifiable information: confirmed licensing details, disclosed ownership, and independently sourceable regulatory records. Operators are included when verification standards are met, not on the basis of market presence or advertising spend.
The ranking reflects our methodology at the time of last review — licensing status, ownership, and product quality can change. Check the last reviewed date on individual operator pages for time-sensitive decisions. Each operator review page includes source URLs for licence records, company registration, and regulatory register entries.
What the Dataset Reveals
Trust scores range from 60 (Sports Interaction) to 87 (Bet365). The spread reflects genuine licensing tier differences, not marginal variation: operators with independently verified UKGC licences score between 73 and 87; those licensed by Curaçao e-Gaming (Pinnacle) or Kahnawake (Sports Interaction) score between 60 and 63. The licensing sub-score alone determines whether an operator's trust score falls above or below 70. A verified UKGC licence is not just a badge — it means a customer has access to UKGC enforcement, GamStop self-exclusion, and mandatory responsible gambling tools that lower-tier licensed operators are not required to provide.
Bonus clarity scores are tighter: 60 to 85. Pinnacle's top bonus clarity score is counterintuitive — it reflects the absence of confusing bonus terms rather than attractive promotions. Pinnacle offers no traditional bonuses. Of the operators that do offer bonuses, scores cluster between 60 and 70, reflecting adequate but not exceptional term clarity across the dataset.
Payment method patterns are clear: Visa and Mastercard debit are universally available. PayPal is accepted at 7 of the 10 operators; Skrill at 5. Only one operator (Pinnacle) accepts Bitcoin — this is a licensing framework consequence, not a feature choice by most operators. No single operator offers all six payment methods.
Country availability patterns: the UK has 6 operators, all with verified local UKGC licensing. Canada (Ontario) has 6 operators in the iGaming Ontario framework. Australia has one operator: Bet365. Two operators (Sports Interaction, DraftKings) serve Canada exclusively. Betsson serves only Ireland and New Zealand among our five markets.
Using the Filters
The country filter narrows the list to operators available in your market. Selecting United Kingdom returns the 6 UKGC-licensed operators, all with independently verified licensing. Canada returns the 6 Ontario-accessible operators. Australia returns one — Bet365. Ireland returns 8. New Zealand returns 5.
The sport filter is less discriminating: all 10 operators cover all six tracked sports. Selecting a sport does not reduce the list because sports coverage in this dataset is universal. The meaningful question is market depth within a sport, which is addressed in each operator's Sports Coverage section and on the individual sport pages.
The payment filter is more useful for narrowing options. Selecting PayPal reduces the list to the 7 operators that accept it; Skrill to 5; Bitcoin to 1. The features checkboxes let you filter for live streaming (available at 5 of 10), cash-out (8 of 10), or fast withdrawals (6 of 10). Combining country plus payment method is often the most productive filter combination — it identifies regulated operators in your market that support your preferred payment method simultaneously.
Reading the Trust Score
Trust carries the highest weighting in our methodology (35%) because it captures what matters most when things go wrong: does the operator hold a verified licence, is their ownership transparent, and do they meet responsible gambling obligations? The trust score is built from seven sub-components — licensing (max 35 points), longevity (15), transparency (15), responsible gambling (10), security (10), reputation (10), and terms clarity (5).
The licensing sub-score is the single largest differentiator: operators with independently verified UKGC or MGA licences start with 22–30 points out of 35; those with Curaçao or Kahnawake licensing receive 15. Longevity rewards operators with longer uninterrupted operating histories. Transparency rewards publicly listed companies over private ones. Frequently Asked Questions
How many sportsbooks are in this dataset?
Our current dataset covers 10 operators. Each has been reviewed and scored using our independent trust-weighted methodology. Operators are included when we have sufficient verified data — licensing confirmation, ownership details, and independently checked sources — rather than on the basis of market presence or advertising spend. The full review criteria are explained on the How We Rate page.
What does the overall score represent?
The overall score combines five components: trust (35%), bonus clarity (20%), sports coverage (20%), payment (15%), and app quality (10%). It is designed to make cross-operator comparisons possible in a single number, but should be read alongside the individual category breakdowns — the component scores reveal where an operator is strong or weak rather than averaging those differences away.
Why is trust weighted more heavily than features?
Licensing verification, regulatory standing, and responsible gambling standards are the factors most directly linked to whether an operator treats customers fairly when it matters. Features like live streaming or fast withdrawals are genuine conveniences but can be assessed by users directly. Trust factors require verification against regulatory databases — that independent verification is our core editorial contribution to this comparison.
Can I trust these rankings?
Our rankings are based on independently applied methodology, not operator payments. The ranking reflects our scored assessment using verified data and source URLs. Operators do not pay to be listed or to rank higher. As with any comparison, we recommend reading individual operator reviews alongside the overall rank — your priorities may weight licensing, sports coverage, or payment speed differently to our standard formula.
How often is this data updated?
Scores are updated when material changes occur — including ownership changes, new regulatory enforcement actions, licence renewals, or significant product changes. Each bookmaker entry shows a last reviewed date. For time-sensitive information such as current licensing status, always check the relevant gambling authority register directly before making a registration or deposit decision.
Are all operators currently accepting new registrations?
We aim to list operators that are actively accepting new customers at the time of review. Operator availability and registration status can change following regulatory decisions or commercial choices. Always verify directly with the operator and confirm that they accept customers from your specific jurisdiction before registering — particularly for operators available under international licensing only.
How do I use the filters on this page?
Use the filter bar to narrow the list by country, sport, payment method, or feature. Selecting a country shows only operators available in that jurisdiction. Combining filters — for example, United Kingdom plus PayPal plus Live Streaming — identifies operators meeting all three criteria simultaneously. The result count updates as you apply filters, and all filters can be cleared with the reset button.
Are these sportsbooks safe to use?
Every operator in this dataset holds at least one internationally recognised gambling licence. Operators marked with a Licensed badge have had their licensing confirmed against the relevant public register. Regulatory licensing provides baseline consumer protections including segregated customer funds, access to dispute resolution, and mandatory responsible gambling tools. Check the individual operator review for the specific licence details and source URLs.
